ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I grew up in Sydney and lived in Melbourne for many years, but I have always felt most at home in London. I first went to London in 2001 at the age of 22. I found London to be a brutal city and the experience educational. I loved it. Because I knew no one, I could make it mine.

I found it a quite difficult place at times, but the struggle only made it more satisfying. To cope, I may have made some imaginary friends, who may have found their way into this story, overlapping and intermingling with real people, places and scenarios that live on in my memory and have been instrumental in my life.

I’ve been hindered on occasion by the neuroses common to writers, a label I’ll maybe wear more comfortably now my first book is finished. Slim, late, a little unsophisticated, you’ll have to wait for my magnum opus. Still I hope there’s fun to be had on the way.

The journey is one I must embrace. The deviations due respect. I’ve done some stuff I’m not proud of, but I’ve also made excellent friends, seen some great places, supported other artists, written letters, walked on parliament. I have laboured. The time for a new politics and the grand impact will come.

I now live in the Netherlands and have recently started researching my next book at the bibliotheek in Den Haag.
